Last week I just washed my car and it rained! It seems the dark clouds are never convenient. They come when our sunny world has made our day bright and beautiful.
“I will send down showers in season; there will be showers of blessing. The trees of the field will yield their fruit and the ground will yield its crops, the people will be secure in their land.” – Isaiah 34:26-27
God has a purpose for the cloudy days of our lives – to send “showers of blessing.” We so often focus on the clouds. We cannot see what good they will bring us. We cannot see the sunny skies above the clouds. Scripture tells us that we cannot expect the blessings apart from the showers. The showers have to come so that we might reap the blessings. God promised that the rain-clouds of our lives would bring forth growth, care, and blessing. The next time your day is covered by dark clouds, remember the vast blue sky above them, and praise God in the midst of His showers of blessing.
